Biscuits and Gravy....OR Breakfast Sandwich

Okay...So I woke up this morning craving my moms biscuits and gravy!
Bad Idea.
But it all worked out in the end.

So I started making biscuits from Gluten Free Bisquick! YUM! the recipe on the side of the box is all you need!
2 Cups Bisquick
2/3 Cup milk
3 eggs
and 1/3 cup shortening (Or butter)

Mix it all together as per directions on the box

and it should look like this

Don't use this dark of a pan though! it burns the bottom
I also used a silver cookie sheet that made them perfectly!

Now comes the bad part....
I don't eat bacon; I think it's nasty and disgusting.
Don't ask why, I just don't like it. I know, I'm weird.

So one of the main ingredients in Gravy is Bacon Fat...

So mom told me I could melt 1/2 stick of butter
Add 2 TBS of Corn starch
then random amounts of milk until it reached perfect consistency.

So I melted the butter

Added the cornstarch

and the milk...haha
The gravy turned out chunky, and not in a good way.
It tasted terrible!

My dad, who cooks (sometimes) told me that making gravy takes practice, and apparently he has lots of it, because his gravy never turns out bad like mine did. So Practice away!

If you know how to make gravy, please be my guest and make it your way! :))

But this is how your biscuits should look
(and the color of pan I suggest using)

And I turned a disaster into something magical!
I always loved making Meat/Egg/McMuffins at home but I always used bread (obviously)

So this is a healthier, yummier version of McDonald's breakfast sandwich.

Just cook up an egg to your liking melt some cheese on it and add your choice of meat
I use ham, or whatever I have available!
(I eat ham, not bacon. There is a difference)
And Yum! Breakfast sandwich on soft, sweet biscuits!
(and you see Ketchup on mine, don't worry, it's not required, I'm a weird Idahoan, and my family eats Ketchup on EVERYTHING!)

So wether you're making biscuits and gravy (my all-time favorite) or A breakfast sandwich,
Enjoy your Sunday Breakfast!
